Thanks to a grant received from the Institute for Humanist Studies in Albany, N.Y., USA, Prometheus Society of Slovakia started publishing a periodical devoted to defence of civil society and humanism – two issues most neglected in the current transformation of Slovakia in a really democratic country

We are pleased to show the cover of the first issue of this periodical, which will enter the history of Slovakia as the first ever printed bulletin dealing with such objectives.

At the same time the directorate of this Society wishes to express its sincerest thanks for the support of the Institute for Humanist Studies in Albany and its encouragement to such an ambitious task, which is quite exceptional in the current atmosphere of religious fundamentalist political trends adopted by State policy.
